MP Helen Grant was given a tour of the newly-developed Benenden Hospital near Cranbrook last week.
The Member of Parliament for Maidstone & The Weald visited the hospital’s outpatients department, Bensan and Garland Wards and the CT and MRI Suites, accompanied by matrons Ali Curtis and Zoe Andrews.
It was the first time Mrs Grant, who is a Benenden Health member herself, had the opportunity to visit the hospital since it was re-opened last year following a £55million re-development.
The hospital now has three state-of-the-art theatres, an ambulatory care unit and 38 single patient rooms, and has been rated “outstanding” by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Mrs Grant said: “I’m really proud to have such a fantastic institution in my constituency, one that supports and complements our wonderful NHS with its excellent facilities.”
Founded in 1907, Benenden Hospital offers discretionary healthcare services that complement rather than replaces the care offered by the NHS. More information is available here: https://www.benenden.co.uk
Four years ago, Mrs Grant hosted a reception at Westminster for health and wellbeing provider Benenden Health with 140 guests including MPs, Lords and policymakers.
