With the summer holidays finally in sight, the end of term is a time to celebrate the achievements of pupils throughout the academic year.
On 12th July, Maidstone Grammar School held its annual Speech Day and Prize Giving. Helen Grant MP was invited to speak to the Lower School and present prizes to their students.
She said “It was a real delight to join MGS in recognising the achievements of so many of its pupils. The wealth of talent and dedication displayed by these young people was truly impressive and I also want to pay tribute to their teachers whose commitment and skill is vital to helping the young people on their way.
I was also extremely struck by the school’s commitment to providing a rounded education with a clear focus not only on high academic standards but also on sport, music and the arts. A huge congratulations to everyone involved.”
Mr Tomkins, the Headteacher said “It was lovely to welcome Mrs Grant to Maidstone Grammar School at our annual Lower School Speech Day; we valued her words of wisdom and advice that she gave to our younger students and we very much appreciate the support she gives to the school.”
