MP Helen Grant visited Staplehurst manor care home on their latest Open Day to thank the staff under Manager Julie Taylor and to chat with residents.
Helen viewed a gallery of residents’ crafts and photos and enjoyed live music from pianist Catherine Ashenfelter. Staplehurst School Choir were due later in the day as well as 50s and 60s singer, Kevin Walsh.
Helen said ‘Julie was as welcoming as ever and introduced me to her senior activity co-ordinator Martha Isted, who is clearly doing a marvellous job as residents told me how much they enjoyed being at Staplehurst Manor.
The current Conservative leadership race came up in conversation with two of the residents who were following developments closely. They asked my views and gave me their firm opinions on the contenders and on Brexit generally. It was a joy to meet such savvy politicos!’
