Jubilee Field, Sissinghurst became a splash of colour and commotion as hundreds of local people flocked to the annual village fete on Bank Holiday Monday.
Dozens of stalls, a bar, BBQ and a bandstand encircled the competition dog showring where seven classes of canine candidates were shown.
Helen Grant deliberated carefully over each class before handing out the much prized rosettes to the winners and runners-up.
Helen said 'Being a dog lover myself it was a real pleasure to be invited to judge my first dog show, and where better than in the beautiful village of Sissinghurst. It was a much harder challenge than I expected though, with so many perfectly pampered pooches being presented by their owners for each class of show. I look forward to returning in 2019 and perhaps I will enter my own beloved pup Archie for next year's judge to consider. I must also thank grooming company A – Z Animal Care from Bethersden for sponsoring the Dog show and Sissinghurst Parish Council for organising such a super fete overall.
