Helen Grant MP and Tracey Crouch MP came together, last week, to offer their support to the thriving Maidstone Community Support Centre.
On a visit to the unique facility in Marsham Street, Maidstone, the neighbouring Kent MPs joined the centre's leadership team to brainstorm ideas for how they could do even more to support the people of Maidstone and beyond.
The Centre already offers an attractive and affordable office base for voluntary organisations and charities and is home to an inspiring range of community groups including: 21 Together, Kent Savers Credit Union and the Shaw Trust. They also already host hugely worthwhile activities such as arts and crafts groups and a community café.
However, under the direction of Chief Executive Tad Taber, the Centre's leadership are enormously ambitious and want to do more to support vulnerable people across Maidstone. With this in mind, the meeting with the two MPs provided a hugely worthwhile opportunity to brainstorm ideas for areas in which they could make even more of a difference.
Ideas discussed included offering more: measures to combat loneliness, support for families suffering from the effects of mental ill health and provision for young people. Mr Taber committed to taking some of the ideas away to decide how they can be delivered.
Helen Grant MP said, 'It is always my absolute pleasure to join my friends at Maidstone Community Support Centre, they do such amazing work providing a base for some of the most important and inspiring organisations in our town.
The leadership team at the Centre are hugely ambitious and capable and want to offer more to support vulnerable people across Maidstone. It was great to join Tracey for a hugely productive session and I can't wait to find out the new plans they bring forward. As always they have my full support.

With such a prize facility in such a prime location however there is no doubt they have more to offer to the wider Maidstone community.
