Yalding Yuletide Market

Helen joins Christmas revelers in Yalding

Yalding resident Helen Grant got into the festive mood whilst popping down the High street for an early evening stroll last Saturday under the crescent moon and a crisp winter's air.

Amidst aromas of mulled wine and a sizzling hog roast the annual Yalding Yuletide Market was in full swing. Host to dozens of stalls showcasing the best local produce, hot food, giftware and crafts the event also sported a merry go round and even a pre-Christmas visit from Father Christmas.

A magnificent troupe of Morris dancers were stepping out along the high street, closed to traffic for the evening, and the Tonbridge Scouts and Guides band performed Christmas carols to a packed Yalding church.

Helen Grant MP said: "I visit our farmers' markets whenever I can in the Constituency but the Yalding Yuletide Market is an absolute must. It is a wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit and goes from strength to strength every year. I warmly congratulate the organisers, the volunteers and traders, and extend my thanks to the hundreds of revellers who made the 2016 Yuletide market such a great success."
