Helen Visits Kent Institute Of Medicine And Surgery

Helen Grant MP, the Member of Parliament for Maidstone and The Weald, visited the construction site for the new Kent Institute of Medicine and Surgery in Maidstone on Friday 27th September to meet with developers.

The site aims to bring innovative treatments to Kent and was opened to the public as part of the 'Open Doors' weekend, aimed at opening up the construction industry to the public to create an understanding and to inspire young people to work in the sector.

Speaking at the KIMS site, Helen said:

"Construction is about more than mud and boots. The sector provides a wide spectrum of opportunities to young people and I am keen to support the industry in their efforts, and particularly those aimed at enticing women into the STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects. I very much look forward to seeing KIMS open and I know that my constituents will benefit from the innovative treatments it provides".
