Helen Meets Disabled Christians' Fellowship

Helen Grant MP, the Member of Parliament for Maidstone and The Weald, visited Allington Baptist Church on Saturday to speak to the Disabled Christians' Fellowship in Maidstone.

Starting in Bristol in 1959, the disabled Christians' Fellowship (DCF) is a cross-denomination group, providing spiritual and practical support to those with disabilities. The initiative has spread, with around forty groups now spanning the UK offering fellowship, accessible holidays, and the tape ministry. Today DCF is part of 'Through the Roof', a Christian disability organisation working to change attitudes in churches and wider society toward disabled people and disabilities.

At the meeting at the Baptist Church in Allington, Helen shared her experiences of becoming a Member of Parliament her first three years representing the people of Maidstone and The Weald, supported by a slide show of photo memories along the way.

Helen said: "It was a lovely opportunity to say hello to some familiar faces and meet, for the first time, others I have been helping through my constituency work".
