Helen Grant MP, Member of Parliament for Maidstone and the Weald, celebrated Red Nose Day by visiting Fusion Healthy Living Centre in Maidstone and meeting with Mike Fitzgerald, Chairman of Trustees.
The Healthy Living Centre was opened in September 2003, having started life in 1993 as a Family Circle project. It was created to improve the health and well-being of young families and to help drive forward community projects.
Fusion is now a vibrant community hub, offering a range of services including a Citizens Advice Bureau, housing association surgeries, health advice, and chiropody.
Speaking at the Centre, Helen said:
"It was a pleasure to meet Mike and to hear about all of the wonderful work Fusion does in the community. Having a central hub where people can access a range of invaluable services is an integral part of building community spirit. I very much look forward to working with them in the future as they expand on their already impressive work".
Mike Fitzgerald added:
'As Chairman of Trustees I was delighted to welcome Helen Grant to Fusion Healthy Living Centre and to thank her for giving her valuable time to meet with staff and parents and for supporting local groups".
