Helen Grant attends Celebrate Maidstone Gala Awards

On Friday 14th March, Helen Grant MP attended the Celebrate Maidstone Gala Awards at the Clive Emson Conference Centre, Kent County Show Ground. Celebrate Maidstone was set up in 2012 by a group of volunteers at Jubilee Church under the charity Restoring Hands to champion Maidstone's multitude of inspirational figures. Now in its third year, the evening was attended by over 350 guests from across the local community.

Speaking about the event, Helen Grant MP said:

"I was delighted to attend the Celebrate Maidstone awards on Friday night – what a fantastic evening! I was honoured to present the Star Neighbour award to Laraine Soliman. Laraine is a real pillar of her community, loved and respected by her whole street - underlined by the fact that she has spare keys for most of the street's houses! I'd like to pay tribute to Jubilee Church and all at Celebrate Maidstone for putting together this brilliant event championing the unsung heroes across our communities. Maidstone has a multitude of inspirational figures and it was truly heartwarming to hear about some of the work that goes on. I very much look forward to next year and hope to be a part of this marvellous evening once again. Huge congratulations to all the winners!"
