Helen Backs Playground Campaign

Helen Grant, Member of Parliament for Maidstone and the Weald, has thrown her support behind a campaign to win a new playground for a local Primary School.

On a visit to Valley Invicta Primary at East Borough, Helen met with staff and students and pledged her support for their campaign. She vowed to use her social media platforms to spread the word and encourage her constituents to vote for the school in the nationwide competition.

The Prize, being offered by recycling company, 'TerraCycle' is a state of the art £15,000 recycled playground which would include a cargo net and a slide. It would be hugely welcomed by the school as their current play area is no longer fit for purpose. There are 31 schools from across the country taking part and East Borough is the only participant from Kent.

Speaking at the school Helen said, 'This a fantastic school with wonderful pupils and inspirational teachers; who are enormously deserving of the amazing new playground facility which is being offered to the winner.

They are so close to winning the prize and I would encourage anybody who feels able to play their part and register a vote, it could make all the difference. I wish them the best of luck, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.'
