Cranbrook CofE Primary Going From Strength to Strength Says MP Helen Grant

It was time to reward top students for great attitude, kindness and hard work. For the occasion Helen Grant MP joined Head Teacher Rosie Piper to announce the children who had been appointed House Captains and Vice Captains for 2018 and award them their badges.

After a photo call Helen then held a Q & A session for some of the students where she answered a range of probing questions such as; Why are you a Conservative? Have you met anyone famous, like The Queen? and what are the best and worst parts of your job as an MP?

Helen said 'It was a delight to meet so many confident and aspirational children with staff who are unified in their vision for the school. It was also great to hear that they received a 'Good' from OFSTED last visit and it was clear from a tour of the school that things are very much on the up-and-up there'.

'It was good to learn that there is a lot of interaction with Cranbrook Senior School too. CCEP is now a feeder for the newly instigated Year 7 intake and that is creating good aspirations and motivation within pupils'.

Head Teacher Rosie Piper said 'The children have loved the opportunity to meet Helen and find out more about her role as an MP, and the new house captains were delighted to have Helen presenting their awards. We enjoy showing children the vast range of careers available to them as they complete their educational journey through school and further education, and Helen's visit has allowed the children to glimpse another of these possibilities.'
