Conservatives celebrate By-Election victory in Fant

MP Helen Grant praises text book campaign

Conservative activists reflected and celebrated a hard fought by-election in Fant Ward, Maidstone after securing victory last Thursday night. Winning candidate Matthew Boughton was joined by a large group of people who had been involved in his campaign. The gathering took place at the appropriately named Victory public house in Farleigh Lane on Friday evening.

Jubilant MP Helen Grant, who was a part of the campaign effort, was among the guests. She said "Matt and his team fought a text book campaign from start to end. They focused on the local issues and worked like Trojans throughout a very long period. I know Matt will prove to be a very worthy successor to Cllr Alistair Black, whom we all sorely miss after he passed away so suddenly two months ago".
